Interpretatie

PCR is de meest gevoelige en specifieke methode om Chlamydophila felis aan te tonen.[2]

Een positief resultaat wijst op de aanwezigheid van Ch. felis DNA. De test kan positief blijven tot 5d na behandeling.[3] Eénmaal de parasiet werd aangetoond is het belangrijk om de therapie voldoende lang aan te houden (Doxycycline, 4w) om herval te voorkomen.
